Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates (JCG) Classroom Presentations: Responsibilities include creating engaging class presentations, approximately 30-40mins in length on topics such as personal career pathway, current job responsibilities/duties, and or a ‘day in the life testimony. Total time commitment is typically 2.5 – 3 hours. Career Day/ Career Fair Volunteer: Responsibilities include partnering with a JCG class to participate in a career day/ panel. Total time commitment is typically 1.5 – 3 hours. Informational or Mock Interviews: Responsibilities include providing students with the opportunity to practice their interviewing skills and learn about your industry or organization through a guided, hands-on experience that simulates real-world hiring conversations. Total time commitment is typically 30 mins for informational and 1-2 hours for Mock Interviews. Job Shadowing: Responsibilities include spending a half or full work day with a JCG student interested in learning about your specific career/industry. Total time commitment is typically 4 - 8 hours. Summer Internship Program Preceptor: Responsibilities include mentoring and guiding a JCG student intern for 6–8 weeks by providing meaningful, hands-on work experience within your organization. As a preceptor, you’ll help students explore career pathways, develop professional skills, and gain confidence in the workplace while receiving support from our Career Exploration Manager and JCG Specialists. Typical time commitment is 20-25 hours weekly for 6-8 weeks (May-July only). Company Tour: Responsibilities include working with CYC to coordinate a field Trip for students to tour the company you work for, which allows students a "behind the scenes" view of various occupations within the company. Tours are scheduled between 9 am - 12 noon. Additionally, the company is asked to provide a lunch for attendees. Typical time commitment is 2.5- 3 hours. Guest Speaker: Responsibilities include speaking at events for groups of 30 to 100+ students on topics related to career exploration, mentorship, and resource coordination. Typical time commitment is 15 to 30 minutes.
