Giving financially is just one of the ways you can donate to CYC. Here are some other ways individuals and businesses can provide valuable assistance.

Donate Tickets and Gift Cards for Mentors/Mentees in CYC Programs
CYC strives to make its programs more cost-friendly to volunteers by offering free or discounted tickets to area events, such as Reds games, the Newport Aquarium, or Kings Island. Tickets to area events are always needed to help enrich the lives of the students supported by our programs. We graciously accept gift cards to local restaurants, movie tickets, and ticket donations to sporting events, local museums, arts events, and cultural events.

Businesses—Become a School Partner
Over 100 Cincinnati-area businesses and organizations participate in CYC's Partners in Education program, but many more are needed. Each school partner is carefully matched with a CPS district school to complement the needs of their school and the resources provided by the corporation.

Donate Supplies
Now your extra office and art supplies can be put to a great use; many individuals and organizations donate items such as school supplies, art supplies, office supplies, and books to the Cincinnati Public Schools(CPS) and CYC administrative offices. CYC can provide a list of the items needed most.

Donate Items for Student Care Packages
CYC supports graduating seniors who continue their education by providing special care packages with items students need to begin their college career and new life away from home. CYC also sends items to students while they are away, helping them with expenses and providing them with encouragement from home.  Items needed include: 

• Laptops/netbooks
• Twin size bed-in-a-bag sets
• Washcloths, towels
• Shower shoes
• Flash drives
• Pop-up clothes hampers
• Alarm clocks
• Plastic dinnerware sets
• Full-size toiletries
• Amazon Bookstore gift cards
• School supplies (pens, notebooks, flash drives, highlighters)
• Laundry detergent/fabric softener sheets
• Non-perishable food
• Prepaid phone cards
• Shower caddies

 
Salute to Seniors
All graduating seniors involved in CYC programs are recognized in a celebratory event for their hard work and accomplishments.  Funds are needed to help with the event itself, and items are needed for student recognition, door prizes etc. Requested items include:
 

• Novelties (such as mugs)
• Flash drives
• Backpacks
• iPods
• Design and printing services for the event program
• Funds to pay for the event food.

Monetary Donations
Businesses or individuals who would prefer to make a monetary donation help CYC programs in many ways.
      $1,000 funds a mentor/mentee relationship for a year
      $500 funds bus transportation for 40 students to visit a college campus
      $250 sponsors 4 financial aid workshops
      $250 sponsors a student camp experience
      $125 affords a field trip for 15 students in an after-school club
      $50 provides college application fees for 2 students
