Outstanding Student 2010: Rosalyn Shelley

Rosalyn Shelley is a bright and beautiful young woman who exemplifies leadership, accountability and dedication. Her involvement in Project REACH has allowed her to fine-tune her plans to pursue higher education.

A kind and enthusiastic young lady with the unique ability to make people laugh regardless of the circumstances, Rosalyn is a leader among her peers. She can both influence and motivate by making others feel comfortable about who they are as individuals. Rosalyn is also a diligent student who is determined and focused on her future and academic success. Even though Rosalyn struggled with her standardized test scores, she didn't let that discourage her from realizing her dreams of going to college. Rosalyn was accepted to her top two college choices, the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University.

"Rosalyn Shelley embodies the mission of CYC," says Lindsey Buckler, Project REACH college access advisor. "Her commitment to success, as well as her kind and gentle personality, will ensure her success in everything she does."

Rosalyn is attending the University of Cincinnati where she is studying nursing.
