Educational Talent Search

On-site Inspiration

Each year, over 1,200 CPS students are given advising and encouragement to help them progress into postsecondary education through CYC's Educational Talent Search (ETS). ETS provides insightful college, career, and financial aid advice and counseling to students ages 11 and older. Our ETS advisors are on-site during school hours to assist students seeking educational and college assistance. Here is a sampling of our ETS services:

Educational Workshops: topics include study skills and test-taking tips; academic advising; ACT test preparation

Financial Aid Information: information and assistance in preparing applications for grants, scholarships, college work programs and student loans; workshops for parents and students

College Information and Assistance: help in selecting, applying to, and enrolling in postsecondary educational programs; field trips to colleges and universities

Career Advising: career exploration and planning activities, decision-making skills workshops and goal-setting workshops

CYC's Educational Talent Search is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
